A Friend and Colleague Passes Away

A friend and colleague, Dr. J. David McLeod, passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2009, at the much-too-young age of 43. David had been very active in the Western Association of Registrars of Universities and Colleges in Canada, serving as Vice President and President. He was a true leader in the Registrar world, never letting the minutia overcome the important or the fundamental. He and I collaborated on numerous projects, and he always accomplished with excellence what he set out to do. He loved his family and was very adept at keeping a work and life balance. It was a pleasure knowing David and I will miss him. The Registrar profession is a poorer place without him, and he is an inspiration to me to live with no regrets.
